Landscape Management Highlights Conserva CareerTech Academy

The landscaping industry suffered a workforce deficit in 2019, with many companies struggling to send workers out to job sites. With the industry on the rise and unemployment lowering, finding new employees and getting trained to do a job safely and correctly is a challenge. At least, it is a challenge for most landscaping companies.

At Conserva Irrigation, we use our Conserva CareerTech Academy program to recruit, train, and certify new junior irrigation technicians. This comprehensive in-house training program teaches technicians everything they need to know within just four weeks. The provided education and training are split between a classroom setting and worksites out in the field.

Landscape Management magazine recently discussed the workforce deficit and how Conserva Irrigation® is fixing its own way in the December 2019 issue. In the article, Conserva Irrigation® founder and president Russ Jundt noted that Certified Irrigation Technicians who graduate from the Academy are able to confidently handle about 85% of “common problems” that can arise while assisting customers. As time goes by, new irrigation technicians are encouraged to continue their training and education, gradually becoming industry experts who can handle 100% of possible problems.

Conserva Irrigation® is Always Thinking Ahead

While the workforce deficit that became most apparent in 2019 can be intimidating, Conserva Irrigation franchise owners can rest easy. Thanks to our irrigation franchise company’s Conserva CareerTech Academy and foresight, franchise owners can be confident that they’ll be able to recruit and retain new irrigation technicians as their business grows. It is just one of many ways that Conserva Irrigation is always thinking ahead to do whatever we can to support our franchise owners.
